Best Colors to Make Your Skin Glow

By Amber Kratschmer, Chic Esthetiq Med Spa & Laser, Pearland TX

The better your skin looks, the better you look!  So how do you dress up your body to give your skin a healthy glow?  It's all about color!  The easiest way to start is to determine your skin tone; think of it as opposites attract.

Dark skin girls you are going to look best in colors on the warm end of the spectrum in any shade.  this includes pastels to brighter colors and rich, deeper tones as well, any shade of purple, yellow, pinks, gold, bronze, and copper.  You can also pull off winter white, orange and red in a very fabulous way.  Avoid: browns, blacks, and cool colors like blue, silvers, and gray.

Medium skin tone girls stick with brighter, deeper hues and jewel tones (deep, rich colors that resemble gems like emerald, rubies, etc.) that will really pop against your skin.  Avoid: browns, beiges, caramel, oranges and very pale pastels in any hue.

Olive skin gals you have it very easy.  You girls can pull off practically any color!  But if you really want a serious confidence boost the best color for you is pink.  It brings out your subtle undertones of red and gives you a great glow.

Fair skin with warm undertones.  (Freckles, chestnut, red, golden blond or strawberry blond hair.)  Earthy colors work best for you.  This includes any shade of brown and any shade of green.  Ivory, navy, gray, peaches, and rose will also work.  Avoid: very bright colors, neons, white and black.

Fair skin with cool undertones. (No color in your cheeks, ash blond, dark brown or black hair.)  The berry family and jewel tones flatter your skin.  Deep purples, strawberry, raspberry, emerald, and amethyst.  Avoid: metallic, white, black, neons, and lilac.
